These tracks were all recorded and mixed by me at home, on an 8-track machine, in the summer of 1998. As per usual, I wrote all the songs and played all the instruments myself.

I'm Holding Up, Sentimental Singer, Don't Want To Hear You and Sell Me are the oldest songs in this collection. They were all written in 1993.

NOTE: I wrote Corners, Duyuta and Hang Your Funny Faces in 3 days, in 1995, using only 2 guitar strings––one high and one low. The other 4 strings all broke, one by one, and instead of replacing them I just kept writing songs with fewer and fewer strings. I removed those same 4 strings before recording those particular songs for this album. Thus, the intonation of my guitar might not be technically perfect on those recordings, owing to the fact that guitars are supposed to have 6 strings on them in order to function properly. (Also, back in the 90s, I often recorded songs with instruments that were slightly "out of tune", partly because I felt that I myself was probably also a bit out of tune––with the rest of society. And so, to my mind, it was only fitting.)

These tracks were all remastered in May of 2021.

The photo above was taken in 1988. I began recording at home in high school (1985). I also sang in The Grendels (1988/89) and Vine (1992). In the 80s and 90s I used various names on my solo releases, including Moving Camera, Mark De Plume, and my "real" name, Paul Waliczky.
